Trip to Antiques & Uniques in Waukesha, WI – Part 1

By RetroRuth

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! We, unfortunately, were absolutely miserable. We all got a very bad cold over Christmas that culminated with Alex having a fever on Christmas Day. So, we had to cut out visits with many family and friends, not to mention all the worry over our poor baby. Boo!

However, we had all perked up enough at the very end of our trip to rally and head to downtown Waukesha for a quick trip to the fab antique mall they have there: Antiques and Uniques!

We love visiting here when we are in Waukesha, because they always have a ton of great stuff at great prices. Like this color wheel, which was $39!

Barkcloth drapes! This was a set, and I believe they were around $100.

Some lovely wallpapers.

This little play kitchen was so tempting! But I want to wait a bit until Alex is big enough to pick out her own.

Two adorable items: An amazing black fish plaque and a set of play Russel Wright dishes!

These little vans were adorable.

And even if it is Christmas, gotta give some love to vintage Halloween!

This was incredibly tempting, but I already had my arms full of Wisconisn-specific cookbooks and had to make a choice.

Of course, I choose the cookbooks.

Sorry I didn’t get a better picture of those cocktail napkins. They were adorable.

So many gorgeous figures.

And vintage Christmas goodies!

A lovely selection of owl cookie jars.

Here was another tempting item, especially because the vinyl was in great shape and it was $25! But we already have a similar one at Tom’s parent’s house and there was no way we had enough room in the car for this pretty thing.

Vintage magazine rack where Tom spent about 20 mins browsing!

Loved the chenille and the glasses!

Not sure what was going on in this section of the mall. It didn’t look like things on this side were priced at all, so I am not sure if they were setting up a little museum or a little grocery store set-up? Either way, it was cute!

Stay tuned for Part II of our shopping trip next week, and if you see anything in these photos that you like and you are in the Waukesha area, Antiques and Uniques is having a New Year’s Day sale!

That looks like a great store! I love that Armour sign. Sorry to hear of the Christmas sickness. We had to cancel Christmas completely here so I’m feeling the pain too. Maybe next year! 🙂

Had to chuckle when I saw this post. Our pastor’s wife is from Waukesha and is actually visiting there as I type. Even more funny, Waukesha has a minus temperature due to windchill while we are having sunny afternoons in the mid 60s here in California. Why anyone would want to go to Wisconsin in the winter is beyond me.
