January 8, 2014A Cool Vintage Touch For Your Lighting!
I recently came across these cool reproduction vintage style lightbulbs made by Globe Electric.
I found them at my local Canadian Tire. Not sure how readily available Globe Electric is in the US, but I did find these bulbs for sale on Amazon.com.
I have a couple of fixtures in my hall that are missing the glass globes, so the bulbs are exposed. I thought this would be the perfect place for these bulbs.
Here’s my fixture with the larger bulb. They call this a vanity bulb, but it’s quite large. My only issue with these bulbs is that they produce a very yellow toned light – I tried to capture that in this pic, but it was hard to photograph well.
Here’s a close up of the cool filament inside.
Here’s my triple fixture with the quad-loop filament bulbs. I had initially purchased these bulbs for my kitchen, but I found the light too yellow for in there. They work great in this hall fixture, though.
Here’s a closeup of the quad-loop filament. Definitely another very cool, very vintage looking bulb!
I’ve only found these two bulbs in stores here so far – I am hoping to find the radio tube bulbs for my vintage 40s bedroom lamps, though! Definitely check these out if you’ve got any fixtures or lamps in your home with exposed bulbs – they definitely add a very retro touch!
