Vintage Crafting eBay Roundup – Olympic Edition

by Andrea

I loooooooove watching the Olympics, especially the Winter Games.  I’ve got some Winter Olympic sport-inspired picks from eBay for you today, let’s take a look!

First up, some skiing inspired patterns!

Here, we have this VTG Mail Order KNITTING Pattern 205~Peruvian Ski Mask+Headbands+Mittens

olympic1

‘Tis not everyday you see a pattern to knit a balaclava.  I do like how they have tried to pretty it up though – and if nothing else, it would be warm!

Our second entry in the skiing category is this 1973 vintage pattern: misses SKI JACKET & PANTS

olympic2

These ladies look like they might perhaps be more of a recreational skier than an Olympic one, but I gotta say, I do love the bellbottom ski pants!

Now, on to figure skating!

First up, this LOVELY VTG 1950s DANCE TRUNKS BLOUSE & SKATING OUTFIT

olympic3

Could this skating outfit be any cuter?  No, I don’t think it could.  Love it!

Next, we have this Fabulous '50 Mary Hoyer14" Doll Wardrobe Clothes Ballet Skate + Pattern

olympic4

Once again, super super cute – perfect for any little girls who are wanting to play Olympics with their dolls.

Our final entry in the skating category is this Vtg 40s S2604 2pc Suit 3 pc Skating Ensemble Pattern

olympic5

I love that this pattern will do both an awesome skating dress, as well as some everyday wear outfits as well!

Finally, this post wouldn’t be complete without something to represent my favourite Winter Olympic sport – Hockey!

Representative of that, we have this Vtg Bouquet Knitting Pattern Adult Hockey Cardigan Sz. 38-40-42-44

olympic6

Love, love LOVE this pattern!  This might be the pattern that encourages me to officially foray into sweater knitting – so fantastic!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Fun patterns. The Winter Olympics are my favorite, too..almost got to go to the 2002 Utah games, tix, reservations and then had to cancel at the last minute due to family thing.
I saw on the Today show in Sochi that the knitted reindeer hats are really popular there..I like ’em. Not long ago I was watching a 1940s Sonja Henie movie and the actor with her was wearing a neat reindeer sweater.
I’m impressed with all talented hand knitters..I can’t knit.

Awe, that’s too bad, Tammy! I would absolutely love to go to the Olympics someday myself. I am a big fan of the knitted reindeer hats, too!

My husband would totally wear that hockey sweater! But I can’t knit.

Mine would too, Christine – I can’t decide if it is too ambitious of a knitting project for me or not, though – I am still a fairly beginner knitter!
