Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Modern Magnificence in Canton, OH

By Eartha Kitsch

This week’s home is fantastic. California redwood details along with beautiful terrazzo and beamed ceilings. I can’t think of a single thing that I don’t like about this house. It’s sleek and cozy at the same time and right down to the interior design, it’s gorgeous.

This home is located at 4324 Frazer Avenue in Canton, Ohio. It was built in 1956 and has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The house is 2,042 square feet and is listed at $189,900. It is being offered by Realty Ohio Real Estate.   From the listing:

Attention all Mad Men, Mid-Century Modern and vintage lovers. This one of a kind house has been lovingly cared for and kept to its true Mid-Century Modern appeal. This beauty boasts all its original cherry cabinets and built-in appliances. Both full bathrooms feature sunken tub/shower combos. Terrazzo floors through out, 3 fireplaces, wall of windows which flood the house with natural light, lots of hidden storage, and beautiful wood beam ceilings. Fabulous pocket doors adorn the kitchen, dining room and master bedroom. Updates and improvements have been made, which include a 12×11 sun room (2009), HWT (2013), heat pump/AC (2006), and EPDM roof (2008) at a cost of $25,000.00. The exterior of this house is very appealing and inviting with its California Red Wood exterior, impeccable landscaping and circular driveway. How nice would it be to not only own a piece of art but to live in one.

Let’s take a look!

What do you think of this home, readers? I know that I’d just love to call it home!

If you’d like to learn more about this property, be sure and give Karen S. Pinion with Realty Ohio Real Estate a call.

Also if interest this week, I thought that you might like to see some more fun links. Here you’ll see that Elvis and Priscilla’s honeymoon retreat  is up for grabs at a cool 9.5 million. And here you’ll see a story about a 96 year old Toronto woman selling her time capsule home of 72 years! You won’t want to miss that one with it’s beautiful cotton candy colors!

I hope that everyone has a great wrap-up to the weekend. I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one excited about Mad Men tonight! I do believe it’s going to be psychedelic and well, this ought to be interesting, huh?

I love the fact that the realty company is pushing the mid-century angle! No “ready for you to update” nonsense here.

Wow what a stunner! This house has been completely left alone (and that’s a good thing) since 1956! I even spied what I believe to be a Dishmaster faucet on the kitchen sink! Love the bathroom sinks – really I love everything. I would snap that up in a minute!

This is what I aspire my MCM house to look like. Embracing the vintage and making it unique with really interesting and fun decor. I love this place.

Beautiful! The whole house is really super. I have a set of the Revco fridge and freezer just like that set in brown. They don’t fit in my small kitchen so they are in storage. I really wish I had a place to put them; maybe someday…
