June 3, 2014Mike and Sara Rehab a 60s Retro Ranch : Kitchen Time Capsules
Whew, we are still going strong y’all! We had a few set backs due to some drywall repairs so that basically delayed a bunch of other stuff….including the flooring getting installed or us moving anything in……hopefully within the next few weeks all of that will be wrapped up!
As I was cleaning in the kitchen I came across some fun little tidbits I wanted to share with you all.
I had to remove all of the drawers for cleaning and this was what I found in the bottom of one of base the cabinets…..drats, why couldn’t it be $100 bills! ha!
An old coupon and an old cookbook.
I believe this coupon expired in 1981 or thereabout.
What a sweet old cookbook…..I’ll just bet you are eyeballing this one, huh Ruth!?
The Congressman’s wife even included a recipe – it looks kinda good….I may have to try it sometime!
I found this in another cabinet. I know it is super hard to tell, but it says ‘Tupperware’ on it….any idea what this little hook type thing would be used for y’all???
As I was cleaning the upper cabinets I came across this……………..
………………vintage avocado green shelf liner! How cool!
It’s called ‘Shelf Kushion’ by Rubbermaid, gosh I WISH they still made the stuff!
And finally, the last remaining original wallpaper in the entire house.
I think this print is super duper sweet. I am pretty sure this was up all around the kitchen, but the only remaining piece is in the refrigerator nook…..they had already taken down all of the other wallpaper by the time we got there. grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I am leaving this section of wallpaper up, even though it won’t necessarily blend with the other wallpaper I want to put up in there. The fridge nook is off by itself though so I don’t think it will be any problem at all! I just don’t have the heart to take it down………………………
