February 9, 2017New Vintage MOE Dining Room Light Installed in Mom’s Time Capsule Condo! – Thursday Retro Rewind
Post Thirty-four in the ‘Time Capsule Condo’ series and we are installing a more period appropriate light in the dining room. We found this dining room light at a thrift store and bought it on a whim….I’m SO glad we did as it worked out perfectly in Mom’s dining area!

A while back Mom and I were shopping the thrift stores when we came upon this vintage MOE hanging light. I cannot remember how much it was, but probably somewhere in the ballpark of $5. We thought it was cute and decided to pick it up even though we were not quite sure what to do with it at the time.
Well, Mom got to thinking about it and decided she’d REALLY like to have this light hanging over her dining table over at the time capsule condo.
Here is what was over the dining table…..not bad, it did the job of providing lighting, but was kinda ‘modern’ for her 1950’s condo.
Every so often she would ask if Mike might have the time to come over and hang our thrift store MOE light, but it was kind of nutty at work at that time so we kept putting it off ….and putting it off. Finally a few months back when Mom was out of town we made it a point to go over there and hang the light as a surprise!
Here is Mike removing the old light.
And here is Mike hanging the new/old light.
Honestly, this light looks SO much better it is kind of surprising! It gives off really great light and looks pretty cool too!
I love the pattern on the glass too – so cute!
Well y’all, come back next Thursday for the final wrap up and farewell to the condo renovation series. I know, it’s hard to believe we are bidding goodbye to the time capsule condo isn’t it………SO sad!
