Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Lake Arrowhead, California

By MidModMichelle

Howdy folks! Today we’ll be touring a sweet little California A-frame perched in the mountains close to Lake Arrowhead. This summery abode evokes memories of my childhood summer camps, the glow of which now, in the fog of memory, seem like something out of a Wes Anderson movie. (Or, that’s how I choose to remember them. 😉) Anyhoo, let’s take a peek!

This home is located at 248 Arrow Wood Dr, Lake Arrowhead, California on a wooded lot near the lake. It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,481 square foot home built in 1961 that is being offered at $325,000. The listing is courtesy of Voni Saxbury at RE/MAX. For more information and additional photos you can check out the listing here. From the listing:

This is what you came to the mountains for. The wall of glass lets the forest in and the blue sky shine. Mid-Century Modern A-frame is totally retro. Located between the Villages of Blue Jay and Lake Arrowhead near the lakes edge. There are actually 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are down in the family room and adjacent to bedroom #2. There is a fun wooden hot tub and a great smoker/barbque on the large patio. 2 car off street parking.

ADDITIONAL EXTERIOR

(Super cute front door and outdoor pendant light!)

LIVING ROOM WITH DINING AREA

(GORGEOUS!)

(What a sweet fireplace!)

(Orange spiral staircase is amazing!)

KITCHEN

(I think the orange kitchen is really fun and ties the color palette together.)

BEDROOMS

(A little confused by the random paint swatch there lol! But those built-in night stands 👍)

BATHROOMS

(How about that orange vanity and matching shutters!!)

FAMILY ROOM

(Awesome family room with cool built-ins)

DECK & GROUNDS

(What a peaceful view. Sigh.)

I don’t know about y’all, but I think living here would feel like a perpetual vacation. I’m surprised at the affordability of such a place in California, but Lake Arrowhead is pretty far inland so I’m guessing that’s the reason. Would y’all live that far away from a major city to have an amazing and affordable home in California? It would be the perfect place for an artist, writer or someone who worked from home. Anyone familiar with the area and its amenities?

What a fun house! I adore the light over the dining table and all the orange accents. I can see myself vacationing there!

For a vacation home, this is perfect. I don’t think I would want it for a permanent home. There is no dishwasher, for one thing.

I moved up to Lake Arrowhead from Los Angeles a couple years ago. I couldn’t believe the prices of homes up here. I became a real estate agent and love spreading the word about this undiscovered gem and how affordable it is for a resort community in SoCal. Especially when you’re only 90 minutes from LA. It’s so peaceful up here. Above the smog with no traffic. We don’t even have any traffic lights. If anyone is interested in learning more about the homes for sale up here I’m happy to help. 213.634.2298.
