Won’t You Be My Neighbor – Albuquerque, New Mexico

By MidModMichelle

Hey y’all! If you love desert modern as much as I do, you’re going to really be knocked out by today’s time capsule home! It popped up in my saved searches on Friday and it just took my breath away! This home was designed by Art Dekker in 1966 and it’s one of those rare homes that is so good that I wouldn’t change a thing. Every photo has me swooning! See for yourself!

This home designed by Art Dekker is located at 2621 Cutler Ave NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico in the Netherwood Park Neighborhood. It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2,271 square foot home built in 1966 that is being offered at $345,000. The listing is courtesy of Kris Cannaday, at Ida Kelly Realtors. For more information and additional photos you can check out the listing here. (Note: I generally link to the listing on the realty company’s website, but could not get their site to generate the link properly through the MLS search. So this is the Zillow listing link.) From the listing:

Come fall in love with this Netherwood Park, Mid-Century Modern home designed and built by Art Dekker. The geometric lines and open concept provide a beautiful flow. The large windows, glass doors and 9-foot tongue and groove wood ceilings do a wonderful job of integrating interior with exterior spaces. The vintage kitchen with stainless appliances opens to living area. The beautiful 40 foot exterior covered patio provides a fabulous space for outdoor entertaining. This home is minutes from the University and Nob Hill. The backyard abuts the Amafca North Diversion Channel with gate access to the walking trail. Welcome home!

So, a total knockout right?! The price seems so reasonable for an architect designed mid-century modern home of this caliber! I’m hoping that fellow MCM enthusiasts snap this one up! Fingers crossed for preservation-minded buyers!

This listing on Zillow is a perfect example of why you should always have professional photos taken. It’s usually less then $200 and the listing realtor should pay.

The difference between the first set of pics and the second is huge!

I love Albuquerque! If I were wealthy, I’d buy this place as my second home. And like Michelle, I wouldn’t change a thing. The interior brick walls and original flooring are awesome.
